John Duthie Steps Down As European Poker Tour CEO

This week, UK pro John Duthie, 53, announced he had left Team PokerStars Pro, after he decided not to renew his contract with the worlds biggest online poker room.

A few days later, and the London-based poker pro has continued his fresh start to the new year by resigning from his post as the CEO of the European Poker Tour (EPT), which is also part owned by his former sponsor PokerStars.

The English television director has earned an impressive $3,108,077 from live tournament and is credited for creating and setting-up the EPT back in 2004.

Golden Nugget Casino Hosting Women’s Hall Of Fame Inductions

The World Series of Poker has been gone from Las Vegas for a month, but the game itself is still attracting poker enthusiasts to Sin City. The Women in Poker Hall of Fame is enshrining their latest class on September 2nd at the Golden Nugget Casino.

Margie Heintz, Phyllis Caro, and Kristy Gazes will be the 2011 inductees, and the ceremony will be further evidence that the game has arrived as much for women as it has for men over the past decade. The game itself has never been more popular than it is right now in the US.

The Department of Justice may not have known that their indictments of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Absolute Poker, would have started a poker revolution, but that is what appears to have happened in the country.

Spain delays implementation of online poker regulations

If you’ve ever been to Spain you know that the country is not the most punctual place in Europe –unlike Germany’s mass transit system which runs within 5 minutes, visitors in Spain will be fortunate to see Spain’s buses and trains arrive within an hour of their scheduled in some instances—so it’s not all that surprising that Spain’s new online poker regulations slated to be rolled-out on January 1st, 2012 have been delayed by up to six months according to PokerFuse.com.
