Mardi Gras Casino is hosting the first ever Ultimate Elvis® Tribute Artist Contest™ in South Florida this Memorial Day Weekend at Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale Beach, Florida. The contest is sanctioned by Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. and is one of the preliminary competitions that entitle the ultimate contest winner to participate in the 2011 Ultimate Elvis® Tribute Artist Competition™ in Memphis, Tennessee in August. 5 winners will be announced with the 1st place winner taking home a cash prize of $4,000 and, of course, the chance to compete in Memphis in August.

There will be 3 judges from the entertainment and political worlds judging the competition and the public is welcome to come and watch the competition at no charge. Make sure you arrive early and get a front row seat. The competition begins Saturday, May 28th, with the first round at 3pm, the second round at 6pm and the final round on Sunday, May 29th at 4pm. The winners will be announced on Sunday after the final round. We also have 2 door prizes to be given away each day that includes round trip airfare for 2 to Memphis and an overnight stay at the Heartbreak Hotel and a Platinum package tour of Graceland.

The Mardi Gras event in Fort Lauderdale is just part of a nation wide Ultimate Elvis® Tribute Artist Competition™. In 2007, Elvis® Presley Enterprises, Inc. announced the inaugural Elvis tribute artist contest™ event to find the “best representation of the legacy of Elvis Presley.” Now in 2011, Elvis tribute artists will have their chance to compete for the ultimate title by showcasing their “best representation of the legacy of Elvis Presley.” Preliminary rounds for the 2011 contest have already started.

Elvis® tribute artists from around the world will participate in preliminary rounds for their chance to advance to the semifinal round during Elvis Week 2011. Elvis fans will be invited to attend the preliminary rounds that will be held at festivals and various venues throughout the world including the Fort Lauderdale event.

The contest in Memphis will include semifinal and final rounds during Elvis Week 2011. All preliminary winners will compete in the semifinal on August 11, 2011, with the top proceeding onto the final round which will be held August 12, 2011.

The top three winners of the final round of the competition will receive a great cash prize along with a selection of other valuable prizes.
