Hollywood Florida Greyhound racing will be on fire this April. Mark Goodfellow a greyhound handicapping legend joins the Heavy Hitters Handicapping Contest to be held the first weekend in April at the Hollywood Greyhound Track.

Goodfellow, Heavy Hitters President and one of the top 5 handicappers in the nation, has been participating in the sport since he was 18 years-old. However, he says his love affair with dog racing started in his early years when he would accompany his father to work at the track. Goodfellow’s love of the sport grew from his childhood and continues to thrive today.

When evaluating a program Goodfellow says he looks at several factors to determine how he is going to bet:

• Examines the dog’s parents and their history
• Reviews the list of kennels and knows the kennel’s track record
• Watches recordings of previous races
• Checks the dog’s post position in the upcoming race to determine whether an inside or outside position is the best
